The goal of our department is to support the campuses in extending and improving learning opportunities for students with or without disabilities in accordance with the state, federal, and local policies and procedures so that all students are able to participate in instruction and related services to the fullest extent. The department provides leadership, advice, and assistance in programming for each campus. The office of Special Programs and the campuses work closely together to develop and implement special programs that will meet the needs of all students. Research based practices are used at all campuses. Through close collaboration with the campuses we can ensure the needs of all students in the district are being met.

We are dedicated to providing every student with an effective Individualized Education Program in the least restrictive environment. Our district ensures that disabled students are fully included in all campuses instructional and extracurricular programs in accordance with the least restrictive environment. By using innovative and progressive service delivery models, on-going and specialized staff development, and expert supervision and support, our staff is committed to offering not only appropriate educational services, but also high quality services.
